Biography

As Vice President of Asia-Pacific at Research In Motion (RIM), Norm Lo drives BlackBerry growth and success in the region and is responsible for building and cultivating RIM's relationships with various partners and carriers offering the BlackBerry solution in Asia-Pacific.

His career spans over twenty years in high technology research, product development, management, sales and marketing. For the past seven years at RIM, he has led various successful product programs and carrier businesses in North America and now in Asia-Pacific. He is based in Hong Kong, China.

Prior to joining RIM in 2000, he worked for Nortel Networks, serving in various roles within the wireless organization. He was a key contributor to the creation and growth of Nortel's CDMA base station products and business.

He graduated with a M.B.A degree from the University of Ottawa and holds a B.A.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia, as well as M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, including one year as a visiting researcher at the University of Edinburgh.

This keynote discusses the phenomenal growth, popularity and global success of BlackBerry, with Asia Pacific as a particular example.
